Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ham, sliced
- 1/4 cup white miso paste
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, mix together the miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil to create the glaze.
Place the ham slices in a baking dish and brush generously with the miso glaze.
Bake in the preheated oven for about an hour, basting occasionally with more glaze.
While the ham is baking, boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.
Drain the potatoes and mash them with milk, butter, wasabi paste, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Serve the glazed ham slices over a bed of wasabi mashed potatoes.
Garnish with chopped green onions.
